Battlefield 1943: Pacific[ is an upcoming World War II first-person shooter video game developed by EA Digital Illusions CE and published by Electronic Arts for Microsoft Windows, Xbox 360 ,and PlayStation 3. Like Battlefield Heroes, Battlefield 1943 is a downloadable multiplayer-only title. Unlike past WW2 Battlefield games this game will take place only in the Pacific Theater of Operations of World War II.
Battlefield 1943 is set to feature 24 player action and three classic Battlefield locations: Wake Island, Guadalcanal and Iwo Jima. On May 29, 2009 Digital Illusions CE announced an additional dogfight map called Coral Sea, which gets unlocked after the community of a specific console (Xbox or PS3) gets a total of 43 million kills online. Coral Sea will be automatically unlocked when the game comes to PC.
Unlike previous game releases Battlefield 1943 is embedded with destructible environmentsA multi-platform release, it is available on Xbox Live PlayStation Network, and PC download (no cross-platform multiplayer). Price has been confirmed by Dice as $14.99 on PlayStation Network Store and 1200 Microsoft Points for Xbox Live Arcade. A maximum of 24 players on one server, with two playable factions: The US Marines and the Imperial Japanese Army In order to better reflect the war in the Pacific the game will offer conquest game mode only.Players will have the ability to level up, but not to unlock new weapons or abilities. Three maps with 5 capture points each are included: Guadalcanal, Iwo Jima and Wake Island]There will be 3 classes - Infantryman, Rifleman, and Scout, with Japanese officers having melee capabilities with a katana (type 98). The game is based on a regenerating health system similar to the Call of Duty or Halo seriesBattlefield 1943 will utilize the Frostbite game engine[4] In addition to all of the new features, BF 1943 sports the addition of the "bomber shack"

- Switch to bomb sight to view the payload
- Recharge time before it can be used again
- Can be destroyed by enemy planes
